DE MOQ ED

Demuxed is the best media conference. It happens once a year in San Francisco. Except for that one time in London but we don’t talk about that.

Demuxed 2026 is not happening this year. AI companies booked all of the big venues in San Francisco.

So we’re hosting DEMOQED instead!

Omni-chan

The pun only works if you pronounce it “mock” not “em oh queue”

WHEN

October 8th, 2026. 1pm - 8pm.

Plus an afterparty I’m sure.

WHERE

San Francisco @ Alamo Draft House

It’s during Tech Week along with HLS interest and FOMs. Convince your boss it’s worth an expensive hotel stay to gaze at @kixelated.

WHO

Moq Alliance is hosting the event. We be a collection of companies implementing MoQ that want it to succeed. Expect more events and cringe posts on the socials.

It’s free and non-committal to join THE ALLIANCE. If you’re interested, join the Discord server and/or send an email.

And to address the elephant in the room, MoQ Alliance is distinct from OpenMoQ. We share the same goals, but IMO a membership fee to collaborate on open source/standards is gross.

WHAT

We’ll have a bunch of talks and demos and discussions and IDK.

Send an electronic mail if you want to give a talk. Please no sales pitches. Plus you gotta actually be building something, not just speculating.

The conference costs monies ($99) because we’re trying to avoid sponsors. If your company is interested in sponsoring, buy some tickets and post a giveaway or something. IDK

WHY

IETF holds IRL MoQ meeting every 2 months. It’s perfect if you’re a landscaper and want to get in the weeds.

But we want to focus on the practical applications of MoQ. Talk about how we’re building real shit. Get to know your neighbors, maybe collaborate on something, etc.

And of course MARKETING. The drafts are dope but do a terrible job at communicating the value of MoQ.

HOW

Renan from Cloudflare and Matt from Mux are doing the heavy lifting. They deserve most of the credit and PRAISE.

My job is to write blog posts and #influence. I prompted Codex to make the website. Ur welcome.

HUH

If the thought of flying to San Francisco for a half-day conference sounds lame, you can make it lamer and schedule a coffee with me. One lucky guest could even stay in my unfinished murder basement.
